Member's winter Museum tour

February 12, 2019

 

 

Tour the Museum of Arts and Design in NYC. This docent led tour will visit the following exhibits:

Sterling Ruby Ceramics: Ceramics is the first museum exhibition to focus on the artist’s ceramic works. Made using a variety of techniques, Ruby’s clay basins often hold the debris of previous firings.

MAD Collects: The Future of Craft Part 1: Explore MAD’s recent acquisitions, including works by El Anatsui, Sanford Biggers, David R. Harper, Bayne Peterson, Mary Ann Scherk, Cauleen Smith, Adejoke Tugbiyele and Anne Wilson.

The Burke Prize 2018: The Future of Craft Part 2: Discover the inaugural finalists of the Burke Prize, which champions professional artists under the age of forty-five working in and advancing the traditional disciplines of the American studio and craft movement.

Transportation on your own, lunch arranged for the group.

Fee $30, payable to The Clay Art Guild of the Hamptons

BackRoads Clay Studio Tour

July 13 & 14, 2019

11AM - 4PM

 

Our clay artists will open their studios for this two day tour. Each member artist will also host one (or more) member guests. There will be at least 20 participating clay artists. For a tour map and other information, please check our Back Roads website or follow us on Facebook

Potter's Market

Saturday, Sept. 28: 11-5pm

Sunday, Sept. 29: 11-4pm

on the grounds of the Bridgehampton Historical Society Archives

We'll set up our tents again on the grounds of the Bridgehampton Historical Society Archives. Potters bring their own tents or they can share a tent with another potter.  If you don’t have a tent, we have one or two to loan.  Potters will set up their own displays.

To sell your work, fees are $100 (Members) or $200 (Non-members).

Admission is free!  Rain or Shine!

Bowls of Plenty

A Luncheon Benefit for the Water Mill Museum

October 12, 2019

Hundreds of handmade pottery soup bowls, donated by the potters of the Clay Art Guild. Homemade soups, bread, drinks and dessert will be served. There will be a free firing for all donated bowls in any gas kiln firing. Volunteers and bowl donors, please contact The Clay Art Guild.

$25 per bowl (includes soup), $20 for additional bowls (without soup)

Pet bowls will also be available for sale with proceeds going to ARF.

Our annual Holiday Gift Show. Shop for that very special gift for the holidays.

Opening Day is Friday November 29th, thereafter weekends only!

Come and meet your fellow Guild members and get involved in the Clay Art Guild's many activities. There will be a short meeting and refreshments will be served.

Please bring a potluck item. If you would like to join in the gift exchange fun, bring a small, handmade, wrapped ceramic piece!
